computer setups

hey guys, david here and for my second diydream setup i needed a simpler low key workstation for docking my laptop at home. for this setup i’m using a dining tablefrom structube as the foundation for the whole setup. as you can see it’s a glass table. and while glass tables can look extremelyclassy they come with their own unique set of challenges. one of the biggest of course is cable management. a wireless keyboard and mouse is ideal herebut if you can’t, just keeping cables tied

together with zip ties or velcro straps greatlyhelps keep a clean setup. if i have a couple cables that need to berouted together sometimes i like to braid them to keep them from unwinding from eachother. but you still need somewhere to hide all thoseexcess power cords and cables. while you can try hiding some of them behindthe monitor and i’m using ikea kvissle cable management box to hide the majority of mycables. the nice thing about this cable managementbox is that it’s also the perfect height for propping up my laptop to eye level fora better ergonomic experience. now for audio, if i want some peace and quietwhile working away i love my bose qc25’s

but since they aren’t bluetooth i stillneed to deal with its audio cable. to solve this problem i’m using the satechiheadphone stand that has a built dac so i can plug the headphone directly into the base, usb hub for quick easy access to my usb drives, and cord hooks to keep my headphones tiedup and out of the way when i’m not using them. and finally glass table can quickly get dirtyfrom finger prints and mice don’t usually work directly on them, so a mousepad is definitelyneeded for this glass desk setup. i’m using the satechi desk mat that is theperfect size for my coolermaster quickfire rapid keyboard and nzxt mouse without takingaway from the overall design of having a glass

table. throw on a nice wallpaper, a couple piecesof art and maybe a plant. there you go. my diy dream desk setup for those days wenti just need to dock my laptop and get to some serious work done. the setup maybe a little simple but i thinkperfectly complements the use of a nice classy glass table. hope you guys enjoyed this one. you know what to do.

and i’ll see you in the next video.
