hey guys, david here and welcome to diy dreamsetup, where making the best setups doesn’t always mean having the most expensive gadgetsor gear but challenges me to find unique ways to craft a fresh new design.for this diy dream desk setup i had two main challenges. the first was to use two non-matchingmonitors i already had laying around and second i really inspired by these nasa space postersso i had to figure out a way to have it fit in with the rest of the setup.i typically prefer clean symmetrical design but i needed a little more screen real estatethan a single 27†for productivity purposes. a single ultrawide or a pair of identicaldisplays would be ideal here but that wasn’t something i had laying around so i had toget a little more creative on making this
27†and 24†monitor work together. asa starting point, switching out their default monitor stands to matching chrome arms reallyhelps pair the monitors together to look like they were designed for each other. using thestand also helps clean up the desk and allows you to line them up in height.next is a free and easy method of just choosing a wallpaper that uniquely spans and utilizesthe unique shape of the displays. i wanted to convey the journey into space so i useda wallpaper of earth on one screen and space ships leaving on the other to convey thisstory. to fill the void on the right side of thedesk i put up these space posters on the wall. when i first found these, i totally fell inlove retro futuristic look of them. you can
find on nasa’s website and they are freeto download so you can just print them at a local shop and then mount them on your wall.to add a little more color to my setup you can’t never go wrong with led lighting.and i took it a step further and went with two sets so you can have contrasting colors.i did this by attaching one set behind my monitor. and then a different generic ledstrip on the edge of the desk so they can change colors independently.hiding just below the desk is my pc and i think the silverstone ft03 case just aboutperfectly complements the whole space theme. there are of course are several other accessoriesthat round off the setup but for these i just really wanted to keep everything else clean,simple and sophisticated but you can find
